Set out on the banks of the Cudgegong River in the Central West of NSW, 4 hours from Sydney, is the historic town of Mudgee.
Mudgee is known for its wineries, more than 30 cellar doors, agriculture, heritage and well preserved colonial buildings.
It’s also home to some of the most beautiful wedding venues in NSW, and perhaps even Australia.
The Best Wedding Venues In Mudgee
In no particular order, these are my favourite venues to photograph weddings in Mudgee.
1. Blue Wren Farm
The beautiful Blue Wren Farm is a premium wedding venue and working vineyard located just a short 7 minute drive from the heart of Mudgee.
The farm is set on over 50 acres of land and features an abundance of grapevines, stunningly well maintained gardens, native trees and plants, a cherry orchard and manicured lawns. It also features a classic 5 bedroom farmhouse for your use and additional self contained accommodation for your guests.
For your ceremony there is a gorgeous garden complete with a white wooden arbour designed to be styled with a floral display. The garden includes white chairs, an outdoor bar for you and your guests, rustic wine barrel tables, timber stools and fire pits to keep you warm during those cooler months.
And to top it all off, the White Hall. A huge room with pristine white walls and black features to fit 180 seated, or 250 standing, guests for the celebration of your marriage and reception. The White Hall includes white Tiffany chairs, premium hardwood banquet tables, surround sound, large bar and fully equipped kitchen for caterers along with everything else you’d expect from a reception venue.

2. The Vinegrove
15 minutes from the heart of Mudgee and hidden amongst 50 acres of grapevines is the romantic wedding destination, The Vinegrove.
Alongside Blue Wren, The Vinegrove is one of the most popular wedding venues in Mudgee – and for good reason. It offers a stunning bespoke reception experience underneath the perfectly styled marquee, surrounded by vines. This is all thanks to the 20 years of wedding planning and styling experience under the belt of the owners Sarah and Tim.
Your romantic ceremony will take place beneath the majestic cottonwood trees and rustic wooden arch surrounded by beautiful florals and sprawling vineyards. The perfect photographs are sure to ensue.
And let’s not forget about the Homestead. Featuring contemporary gardens and vast lawns, the Vinegrove Homestead is the perfect accommodation for you to enjoy both before and after those special “I Do’s”. The Homestead is supplied with enough linen for 8 guests but can comfortably sleep 12+ with the beds and couches provided.
And did I mention it’s also pet friendly? There’s no missing out for your fur-baby’s here.

3. di Lusso Estate
di Lusso is a beautiful estate with working vineyards that has been the home to hundreds of Mudgee weddings over the past 20 years. You’ll find the wonderful venue just a few minutes North of the Mudgee town centre.
You’re spoilt for choice with the amount of romantic ceremony locations here. You can choose to say your “I Do’s” under the towering gumtrees, by the peaceful lake, or surrounded by the sprawling vineyards. Additionally, you have access to use the amazing rose-covered arbour or gazebo to make your ceremony that extra little bit special.
And when it’s time to eat, party and celebrate, the aptly named Barrel Room is the place to be. Featuring stunning floor to ceiling racks full of majestic wooden wine barrels and long running tables, it’s the perfect setting to party on through the night.

4. Yurali House
Located a short 10 minute drive from central Mudgee and nestled amongst 65 acres of rural bliss is the gorgeous Yurali House. Featuring native gardens, endless paddocks and panoramic views of Mount Frome, you’ll have no shortage of locations for a rustic countryside wedding.
Overlooking the beautiful homestead gardens, the purpose-made wedding lawn offers the ideal spot for your ceremony. This can also double up as the location for your cocktail hour or even as a stand-up reception area.
And if you’d prefer a traditional seated reception and meal, Yurali features a beautiful country marquee. This is designed to be simple and clean, allowing you to style it to best match you and your wedding.

5. Burnbrae Wines
Have you noticed that most Mudgee wedding venues are within 10 minutes of the town centre? It’s no different for Burnbrae Wines, located a 10 minute drive west of central Mudgee.
Burnbrae is known for their multi award-winning wines and popular black tie events. Known as the Mudgee event of the year, their black tie event is a celebration of beautiful wine and delicious food.
It’s also the perfect venue for your dream rustic country wedding. With endless vineyards, delightful gardens and a beautiful courtyard, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect spot for your ceremony and accompanying photo session.
And to make your big day that extra little bit special, perhaps consider spending the night in the absolutely stunning Winemakers Cottage. A cute 2 bedroom cottage that radiates historic country charm and features a gorgeous open fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen and surrounded by beautiful lawns.

6. Burrundulla Wines
On the outskirts of the Mudgee township sits Burrundulla Wines, a property with over 200 years of rich history. Since the first grapes were planted back in 1845, Burrundulla has produced some of the best wines in Australia and is currently home to NSW’s best rosés.
Unlike many of the other venues in Mudgee, Burrundulla is very well suited to the smaller and more intimate weddings. Their cellar door and stunning courtyard can host up to 40 guests for your ceremony, though a marquee is available for larger weddings. Alternatively, there are numerous other locations around the property that can be used to say your “I Do’s”.
The food at Burrundulla? Amazing!
You and your guests will be looked after by the popular Rachael McCarthy’s Mudgee Catering Company who’ll work with you to design the perfect menu using fresh local ingredients.
And as for accommodation, you’ll find multiple options nearby that range in price and size or alternatively your guests could make the 10 minute trip back into Mudgee.

7. Bunnamagoo Estate
Bunnamagoo Estate is another beautiful venue for couples looking to tie the knot in Mudgee. Home to multiple award winning wines over the past 25 years, the venue is located 10 minutes north of the township.
The small Cellar Door is an ideal spot for your ceremony with its heart-shaped feature pond that radiates romance. You’ll then be able to move along to the beautiful marquee that offers stunning views of the property, vineyards and beyond.
And for those perfect couples and bridal photographs? There’s an endless number of perfect spots throughout the property that’ll make for the most amazing of photographs to look back on in the years to come.

8. Lowe Wines
Lowe Family Wines is a certified organic vineyard, winery and farm located just 10 minutes from the heart of Mudgee. They have 9 vineyard blocks that are each dedicated to a specific grape.
Your dream wedding in an idyllic setting and full of rustic charm can be had right here at Lowe Wines. The gorgeous open air Bush Chapel, nestled amongst cork trees and framed with eucalyptus pillars, is perhaps one of the most romantic spots to say your vows within the Mudgee region.
And their grand Pavilion that features antique furnishings and stunning glass doors cannot be overlooked for the reception. Your guests will adore the views out to the vineyards and sprawling farmlands where the wine and produce being consumed was procured.

9. Putta Bucca House
While most venues in Mudgee are known for their award winning wines and extensive vineyards, Putta Bucca is known for their lush, perfectly manicured gardens.
Between the romantic gardens, charming vistas, historic structures and perfect grounds, you’ll not be left short of choices for the location of your ceremony. Though the gardens are often the best place.
Their large marquee is the perfect setting for your reception. It’s located towards the side of the property and features full bar and kitchen facilities and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. You’ll also have access to the Putta Bucca event manager to help make sure everything is perfect for your special day.

10. Melrose Park
A few minutes from Mudgee and situated at the base of Mount Frome is Melrose Park – 250 acres of prime country land.
Featuring a rustic circa 1870 house, beautiful grounds and gorgeous treelines, it’s a brilliant spot for your dreamy country wedding. And if you get excited by the sounds of a “Country Cowshed” for your reception, then this is definitely the venue for you.
You’ll also have a range of glamping options for guests along with beautiful accommodation and preparation area for yourselves in the self contained Deer Cottage.
